> Intermission, the four weights the brand uses, and the text styles that set its hierarchy.

Oztix sets everything in Intermission, from partnership proposals to social
posts. One typeface used the same way everywhere builds trust and recognition.

## Typeface

Intermission is Oztix's version of [Inter](https://rsms.me/inter/), with
features such as single-storey a, open digits, and round quotes on by default.
Roadie loads it for every app, and the
[font files](https://github.com/TicketSolutionsPtyLtd/roadie/tree/main/packages/core/src/fonts/full)
are there for design tools. Where it can't load, text falls back to Inter,
then the system's sans serif.

## Hierarchy

Roadie's prose text styles are the brand's hierarchy. Large, heavy headings
lead, and lighter weights carry the supporting copy.

```tsx
<h1 className='text-display-prose-1 text-strong'>Built on partnerships</h1>
<h2 className='text-display-prose-3 text-strong'>Great events need great partners</h2>
<p className='text-prose font-medium text-strong'>Festivals, tour runs, and concerts</p>
<p className='text-prose'>
  Access to Australia's largest event database and marketing expertise that
  actually drives attendance.
</p>
```

| Weight        | Use for                                             | Roadie style                    |
| ------------- | --------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------- |
| Black (900)   | Campaign headers, event titles, and covers          | `text-display-prose-1`          |
| Bold (700)    | Section headings, key messages, and calls to action | `text-display-prose-2` to `-6`  |
| Medium (500)  | Subtitles, captions, dates, venues, and speakers    | `text-prose` with `font-medium` |
| Regular (400) | Body copy and descriptions                          | `text-prose`                    |

Brand and marketing work uses only these four weights. Product interfaces also
use Semibold, for small headings.

### Print sizes

Print sets the same weights at fixed minimum sizes. In a deck, slide titles
are Black and section headers Bold.

| Format              | Black | Bold | Regular |
| ------------------- | ----- | ---- | ------- |
| Large format        | 48pt  | 24pt | 18pt    |
| Business collateral | 28pt  | 18pt | 14pt    |

## Text blocks

A text block sets a key message on a colour, so it stands out. The highlight
block is Roadie's `Mark`, which fills with the house colour of its intent.

```tsx
<h2 className='text-display-prose-2 text-strong'>
  <Mark intent='brand-blue'>You sell more tickets</Mark>
</h2>
<h2 className='text-display-prose-2 text-strong'>
  <Mark intent='brand-purple'>Your events run smoothly</Mark>
</h2>
<h2 className='text-display-prose-2 text-strong'>
  <Mark intent='brand-orange'>You grow year after year</Mark>
</h2>
```

Choose the colour by the content's energy, and pad a block twice as much at
the sides as at the top and bottom.

| Colour       | Content                                                    |
| ------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------- |
| Flood | Clean information blocks, paired with another block colour |
| House blue | Neutral, trustworthy content |
| House purple | Partnership announcements and community content |
| House orange | Action, calls to action, and urgent information |
| Blackout | Text over busy images, and dramatic moments |

## Formats

| Format        | Write                                                 |
| ------------- | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| Dates         | 15 March 2026                                         |
| Times         | 3:30pm, and Doors 7:30pm                              |
| Ranges        | 1 to 10                                               |
| Large numbers | 5k                                                    |
| Small numbers | One to ten in words in marketing copy, numerals in UI |

## Guidelines

Sentence case and real hierarchy make Oztix copy easy to read at a glance.

### Sentence case, not capitals

**Do**

```tsx
<p className='text-display-prose-3 text-strong'>Great events need great partners</p>
```

Sentence case for every heading and button. The tagline, Built on
Partnerships, is the one exception.

**Don’t**

```tsx
<p className='text-display-prose-3 text-strong'>GREAT EVENTS NEED GREAT PARTNERS</p>
```

No all caps, even for small labels. Acronyms are the only exception.

- Keep body text at 16px or larger on screen and 14pt or larger in print, and
  nothing smaller than 12px anywhere.
- Use at most three heading levels in one piece, and keep social headlines
  under six words.
- Leave enough contrast over any background, at the minimums on
  [Colour](https://ticketsolutionsptyltd.github.io/roadie/brand/colour.md#contrast).
- In co-branded work, keep the Oztix hierarchy for Oztix content. A partner's
  font is fine in the partner's own section.

## In Roadie

- The type scale, text styles, and line heights are on
  [Typography](https://ticketsolutionsptyltd.github.io/roadie/foundations/typography.md).
- Highlight blocks are the [Mark](https://ticketsolutionsptyltd.github.io/roadie/components/mark.md) component.
- Every text style token is on [Typography tokens](https://ticketsolutionsptyltd.github.io/roadie/tokens/typography.md).
